Dave, now retired, was a professional musician and teacher of flute, and piano.
Dave’s professional career in music started around 1968 and includes work in major cabaret venues and theatres throughout the UK, Europe and the Caribbean. During this time he worked with many International recording artists as well as the cream of British entertainers, Cilla Black, Tommy Cooper, Mike Reid, Roy Walker, The Flirtations, Three Degrees, Frankie Laine, to name but a few.
He has featured several times as keyboard player/pianist with Nottingham Festival Opera under the directorship of Andrew Nicklin, and has acted as an adjudicator for Nottingham Young Musician of the Year.
In 1986 Dave set up his private teaching practice in Nottingham and this quickly grew into one of the busiest in the area. Dave taught and ran ensembles at Plumtree, Dagfa and Hollygirt schools.
Dave is a member of the Musicians’ Union, and for a while was secretary of the Nottingham Centre for the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
